After excellent result and numerous gold medals won at this year’s GAST wine evaluation in Split, at the SLAVIN Wine Fair in Orahovica and at the evaluation of wine and strong alcoholic beverages within the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, the latest award for the quality of Belje Riesling has come from Kutjevo.
The wine evaluation within the 3rd Slavonia and Baranja Festival of the Grashevina held last weekend in Kutjevo has brought two Champion titles to the Belje Wine Cellars (Podrumi Belje).
The Grashevina Festival has become now a traditional place of gathering and evaluating best Croatian Riesling sorts of wine. At the first Festival in 2007, the Belje Wine Cellars have won the First Prize for 2006 vintage Grashevina and last year the Belje Grashevina was among the best. This year Belje has won two Champion Titles, namely in the category of dry 2008 vintage Grashevina and dry 2007 and previous vintages Grashevinas. By winning these double Champion titles, the Belje high quality Grashevina has got the primacy for the last three vintages (2006, 2007 and 2008).
As emphasized by the leading people of the Belje Wine Cellars at the ceremony of pronouncing the Champion title in Kutjevo, “We are happy for having won numerous awards and recognitions in several recent years among which these Champion titles certainly occupy a special place. All these medals and recognitions evidently prove the continuity of quality of Belje wines”.
The Belje 2007 vintage Champion Grashevina is already present on the market in trade centers, wine-shops, restaurants and hotels while the high quality 2008 vintage Grashevina would appear on the market in June 2008 and it will bear a mark of excellence of the Kutjevo Festival.
