Every year on January 22nd, vine-growers holiday of St. Vincent, vine-growers come out to their vineyards to celebrate the traditional Vinceška festival. Belje Wine Cellars have celebrated this years Vinceška on the most beautiful location of Belje vineyards – Vidikovac on the hill Banovo brdo.
According to old folk customs, the vineyards were decorated with Baranja sausages and they were splashed with wine, in order to make the upcoming year of 2010 a successful one for vine-growers. This years first pruning was done by Mr. Goran Pajnić, CEO of Belje d.d., and Mr. Baldo Matić, director of PC Wine cellars, while the vicar of Kneževi vinogradi parish, father Danijel Tigandžin, blessed the vineyards. Numerous guests, both from this region as well as from the other parts of Croatia, attended the ceremony. They had the opportunity to taste Belje wines, grilled sausages and bacon and to enjoy themselves while listening to the sounds of tamburica music.
Last season of vine-growing and wine producing was a very successful one for Belje Wine Cellars, having won numerous awards and recognitions, both on domestic and international level, the peak of the winegrowing season being the late harvest of Graševina and Chardonnay.
