Following the death of Eugene of Savoy in 1736, the estate was inherited by Queen Elisabeth, and later by the famous queen Maria Theresa. Until 1775, it was under the administration of Vienna Court Chamber.

As history would have it, Maria Theresa’s predictions came true. Maria Christina and Albert had no sons, so Belje estate was given to Archduke Karl Ludwig, who had moved the administrative centre of the estate from Bilje to Kneževo.
