Podravka Agri launches an investment cycle in new agricultural equipment

05. May 2025.

Podravka Agri has launched an investment cycle worth a total of EUR 33 million in new agricultural equipment for companies Belje, Vupik and PIK Vinkovci. The investment covers machinery that will further improve efficiency across the group’s agricultural operations and raise business performance and production to an even higher level.

So far, 50 machines have been delivered to the companies, including heavy and mid-range tractors that are essential for cultivating the 32,000 hectares of arable land managed by Podravka Agri. The delivery also includes advanced machinery, notably self-propelled sprayers with a 36-metre spray boom – a type of machinery being used on Croatian arable land for the first time. With boom height adjustable up to two metres, they allow growers to protect and nourish crops with crop protection products and liquid fertilisers even when plants are already tall and fully developed—supporting better crop quality and higher yields.

“Immediately after the takeover, we launched an investment cycle across the companies under Podravka Agri. Investing in the development of our employees has been one of our key strategic priorities, so we began by increasing salaries and employee benefits, and then continued with further investments in agricultural production and the food industry. The new agricultural machinery will significantly improve the efficiency of our spring sowing and this year’s harvest of winter crops,” said Davor Doko, President of the Management Board of Podravka Agri.

In managing its arable land, Podravka Agri will apply proven business practices and experience from countries with industrial-scale agriculture and large agricultural landholdings, such as the United States, Canada and Ukraine. Given the scale of its farmland, Podravka Agri operates as a vertically integrated system, which requires this approach and the supporting technologies.
