Two largest and most powerful tractors arrive at Podravka Agri

Podravka Agri’s investment cycle in modern agricultural machinery was rounded off this year with the delivery of two John Deere 9R 540 articulated tractors. Purchased from Novocommerce International of Osijek, these are the first articulated tractors – and also the most powerful tractors – in Podravka Agri’s agricultural fleet.

Unlike conventional tractors, articulated tractors have a pivot joint between the front and rear sections, with the rear section separated from the cab and front wheels. This design allows easier manoeuvring and tighter turning, which is particularly important when applying slurry and digestate, organic fertilisers that replace mineral fertilisers.

Davor Doko, President of the Management Board of Podravka Agri, said of the new tractors: “These machines represent the highest-performance, highest-capacity tractors on the global market, and we will use them for applying slurry and digestate on our arable land. Before the tractors were delivered, we organised a ten-day training programme in the United States for our employees, where they became familiar with this type of tractor and its capabilities. In line with our strategy, we are focused on innovation and improving agricultural production, which is why we want to lead the way in applying the most advanced slurry and digestate application technology to preserve biomass in the soil.”

The 9 Series tractors stand out with maximum power of nearly 600 hp, enabling operations to be completed within optimal timeframes and delivering greater precision and quality across more hectares. With dual wheels, these tractors reach a width of 4.3 metres and a length of nearly 8 metres. They are specially equipped for night work, with 18 working lights integrated into the hood, cab roof and fenders. The cab features a G5 Plus CommandCenter with a 32 cm display, supporting AutoTrac activation and section control. The tractor is also equipped with JDLink, a telematics solution that enables advanced monitoring of all key machine performance parameters.
